Interviews with some of the best new U.K. artists, songwriters, producers and music creators about their journey so far writing, creating and releasing music and how they navigate the challenges of being a songwriter, producer or artist in the U.K. in the 2020s. Many are fully independent or at the start of their careers in music yet are still achieving some great successes. We aim, through the podcast, to introduce you to music from some really incredible new songwriters and artists currently building their careers in music - and also hope it inspires and gives some useful insights to those of you out there, who may be wanting to create and release music of your own, but not sure how to get started. These are real stories from people creating and releasing their own music right now.

Carolyn Oakley

Carolyn Oakley is a singer-songwriter from Leeds, U.K. she writes & releases indie-alt music under her artist name of Jaayns & regularly collaborates with other writers & producers across different genres. Carolyn started Live Now Play Later in 2019 originally as a live show presenting the music, songs & the stories behind the songs of U.K. songwriters. Selling out shows in Leeds & London the live shows had to pause with the worldwide pandemic of 2020.

Briefly moving on to Clubhouse App during the U.K. lockdowns, the live shows are back & LNPL has branched out into the podcast with more in-depth conversations with songwriters & artists about their music & songwriting.

Through LNPL, Carolyn also runs a number of private songwriting retreats to bring together songwriters, producers & artists, to write collaboratively together, providing creative spaces for music creators to come together to see what happens.
